Questions

Where do the vessel sizes come from?

Each refining stage holds the oil for a set time, so its volume is the hourly flow multiplied by that residence time, with a quarter of the vessel left as freeboard. The neutraliser is sized at one hour, the bleacher at thirty minutes and the deodoriser at ninety. Those are ordinary starting figures for a continuous physical refinery; if your process licensor specifies otherwise, theirs win.

Why is nothing priced?

Because a rate this page invented would be quoted onward as if it were real. Mill rates for plate, and supplier prices for pumps and vessels, move week to week and differ by city. The tool gives you the thing a rate multiplies — a size and a number — and leaves the rate to you.

Is the pipe length a real estimate?

No, and it says so on the line. Pipe length comes from a plot plan and a routing, neither of which this page has. The four hundred metres is a placeholder to keep the line in the quotation; replace the number with your take-off from the layout.

What is not included?

Steam generation, the seed preparation and expeller side, refrigeration for winterising, effluent treatment, electricals, instrumentation, structural steel and civil work. This is the oil-side mechanical equipment only.
